Tim Exile’s Online Jam Stage
Tim Exile is a performer known for his improvised, real time sampling experiments. Whether performing with a Baroque Orchestra, remixing Barack Obama’s Inauguration Speech as it happened, or making a song with the Google Guitar Doodle, he isn’t afraid to try something different.
Now, on his website, he has taken interaction with an online audience a step nearer, as anyone can send him a sound which will directly be sent to his equipment during his live online performances, or stored on SoundCloud. The video will explain this better.
Tim Exile - Google Guitar Homepage Song
Song created through live sampling and looping - probably the coolest video you will see today
It had to be done! I saw the Les Paul interactive guitar Google homepage www.google.com a couple of hours ago so I performed a quick song/mashup about it… here it is.
Remixing a baroque orchestra - live and improvised
Tim Exile
Filmed at Kampnagel, Hamburg 10/01/09, featuring the Elbipolis baroque orchestra. It’s part of the Barock Lounge project where I was asked to do a remix of some of the pieces the orchestra performed earlier in the evening. I thought it would be more fun to do it live and because we had almost no rehearsal time it was improvised. I used my new live machine for looping, processing and sequencing. The orchestra played motifs from one of the pieces with a few improvisations while I sampled, looped and processed them, and added live electronic drums and the odd synth.
Obama’s inauguration speech - live mashup
Worth seeing if you havn’t come across this before - a live improvised remix of the Obama inauguration speech by Tim Exile.
