BRAVE ROBOTICS
A remote control 1/12 scale transformer car / robot. Movement is available in both car and robot forms and can fire missiles from it’s arms. These things have been seen before in Japanese hobbyist robot battles, but this one has a wifi camera fitted in it’s front. Here is a video of it in action:
You can find out more about it at the project’s website here (in both Japanese and English)
Sega Rally Championship RC Cars Project
Converting an old two seat arcade driving game cabinet to control remote controlled cars with cameras, developed for a tech event in Portugal (video embedded below):
From The Arcade Man:
The Artica guys are addicted to race games and Trackmania is only one of their favorites!!
They’re still addicted to race games but they don’t play them, instead, they prefer to create their own games.
They thought it would be cool to drive a remote control car using a steering wheel and pedals, and if the car had a wireless cam, the gamer could look at the screen and really see what the car was seeing in real time, just like an arcade game!
This was the proposal to Sapo Codebits! To have an arcade game where it would be possible to drive two cars and participate in a real race, without any simulations or complex algorythms, neither 3D graphics.. They want something real! Celso Martinho from Sapo was very excited with their idea, and by coincidence (or not) they were planning to have a retro gaming area at Sapo Codebits!!
Remote Controlled Flying Quadrocopter DeLorean Model

Stay to the end of the video to see the authentic lights as it flies in the night.
Remote Controlled Crawling Zombie (via Hack A Day)

When [Mark] sent in the tip about this crawling zombie prop he said that it didn’t sound scary but warned us that it is terrifying when you see it. He’s absolutely right, the video after the break shows some remarkably undead movement from the thing.
This crawler is actually radio controlled. Details are brief, but there’s plenty of pictures and the start of a build tutorial for the hardware. A wood frame serves as collar-bone and spine for the zombie. Attached to the spine are two motors which allow independent shoulder operation.
More details about how it was built can be found here
Sphero - a remote-controlled robotic ball controlled via smartphone
Perfect for playing with cats. In the video I saw a feature which looked interesting, in that you could draw a line and the robot would follow that as a path. As it is transparent and has an LED light, there could be some interesting creative uses for it, despite the $130 price tag:
Sphero is the world’s first robotic ball controlled from your smartphone. Weave in and around obstacles or feet, or just try to outrun the family pet. Free downloadable games work on iOS (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad) or Android devices, and let you test your skills in Sphero Drive, compete with friends at Golf, or catch video of your cat chasing Sphero with KittyCam. When you’re ready for more, you’ll find an ever-growing number of games in the iTunes App Store or Android market.
Wipeout recreated with an RC car and lots of cardboard via Geeks.com
What happens when you recreate a racing came in cardboard, customise a remote control car, fitted with a camera, then make an arcade booth to play it.
