Google Translated Artist Statement:
I am a masterpiece of classical art of four trillion figures by incorporating a comic book character will work. This classic image of each character and the story of the conflict is in order to screen the configuration of the elements of the classics, and several characters in comics Figures consist of this noble and solemn, based on the classic story of the story deals with the light of modern common.
Cartoon movies we see mainly the configuration of each character’s personality is made by the story, but the character’s history, spatiality and time when the province changed the nature can not evolve any yiyagideun I will use these points. For example, in one of my work with American cartoon characters from Disney’s Tinker Bell Smurfs, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse cartoon Sonic and Crayon Japan, South Korea Pororo cartoon, game Angry Bird character and appearance of the character will range from the contents of a classic encounter. I ‘peuraedeurik Jameson’ means, according to neutral or critical pungjana motives and goals of their own, without any historical nonsense by a desire to work, so my work belongs to the pastiche.
A canvas of classic and contemporary stories in the stories are different, each very different from each other, the subject of the story and characters, even the markedly different backgrounds can see that, so any story by story of the conflict can not be completed, original meaning is lost. one side of the story when you try to deploy the other side the same way that the story is interrupted, or when one of these two stories at the same time, not just as concentrated. Thus in the works increases, the story becomes more and more incomprehensible. a story that clearly will not be able to deploy. personality is too strong to bring up stories to one story every single one you can not deploy properly, or from where, do not know what the story was going to while everything is meaningless, ie the inner personality of each character is that the lack of.

Part of a collection called ‘Veiled’, oil paintings of women which depict a surreal reality (something I can’t quite put my finger on … is it the masks, the smeared lipstick, glamour verses the mundane?)

Terry Rodgers - Contemporary Oil Painter
In his own words (which I think capture perfectly what you see above):
In my work, I attempt to reflect my sense of the times we are living in, and both how richly interesting they are and how difficult it is for most of us to navigate their uncharted waters. There is a great push and pull, the lure and the repulsion, the fiction and the real, the known and the unknown. And we live in this swirl of delicate gestures, driving desires, fantasy, economic complexity and interdependence, hierarchical separations, isolation and hope. I am trying to render some notion of this rich fabric.
The above images were part of an exhibition of the painters works in 2010, called ‘Spellbound’ (via This Is Tomorrow)

“only her body” intriguing oil paintings from beijing-based painter KONG LINGNAN /// via neochaEDGE
Kong Lingnan, a young painter from Jilin province who studied at the Academy of Art, recently held her first exhibition at UCCA, titled “Only Her Body” with much success. The show featured her distinctive style of “neon light oil painting,” showcasing pieces that look to be set in the cold barrenness of the Arctic, and depict unexplained scenes of lonely views, rare disasters and mysterious human activities. Although Kong Lingnan uses regular oil paint, it’s with the application of special techniques that she is able to turn these into magical light paintings with bright lines set against black backgrounds. The result is that the paintings look as if they’ve been drawn with a neon light, glowing in the same soft manner, even though in reality no light is being used.

Scientists Warn Gulf Of Mexico Sea Floor, Fractured Beyond Repair - Video confirms it via CNN iReport
A dire report circulating in the Kremlin today that was prepared for Prime Minister Putin by Anatoly Sagalevich of Russia’s Shirshov Institute of Oceanology warns that the Gulf of Mexico sea floor has been fractured “beyond all repair” and our World should begin preparing for an ecological disaster “beyond comprehension” unless “extraordinary measures” are undertaken to stop the massive flow of oil into our Planet’s eleventh largest body of water.
…
According to Sagalevich’s report, the oil leaking into the Gulf of Mexico is not just coming from the 22 inch well bore site being shown on American television, but from at least 18 other sites on the “fractured seafloor” with the largest being nearly 11 kilometers (7 miles) from where the Deepwater Horizon sank and is spewing into these precious waters an estimated 2 million gallons of oil a day.
Interesting to note in this report is Sagalevich stating that he and the other Russian scientists were required by the United States to sign documents forbidding them to report their findings to either the American public or media, and which they had to do in order to legally operate in US territorial waters.

Adam Curtis: BP & The Axis of Evil (via thepublics)
BP is accused of destroying the wildlife and coastline of America, but if you look back into history you find that BP did something even worse to America.
They gave the world Ayatollah Khomeini.
Of course there are many factors that led to the Iranian revolution, but back in 1951 the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company - which would later become BP - and its principal owner the British government, conspired to destroy democracy and install a western-controlled regime in Iran. The resulting anger and the repression that followed was one of the principal causes of the Iranian revolution in 1978/79 - out of which came the Islamist regime of Ayatollah Khomeini.
And what’s more, BP and the British government were so arrogant and bumblingly inept at handling the crisis that they had to persuade the Americans help them. They did this by pretending there was a communist threat to Iran. The American government, led by President Eisenhower, believed them and the CIA were instructed to engineer a coup which removed the Iranian prime minister Mohamed Mossadegh.
