Michel Gondry to Adapt Philip K. Dick’s Ubik (via pastemagazine)
After Michel Gondry’s unorthodox career choice with The Green Hornet, it seems that the director is planning to get back to projects more along the lines of his previous work. Gondry recently told Allocine he plans to adapt Philip K. Dick’s novel Ubik for the silver screen.
Several of Dick’s stories have been successfully adapted in the past such as _Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? Blade Runner, The Minority Report and A Scanner Darkly. Ubik itself has been in various stages of development since 1974 when the author was originally commissioned to write the screenplay for the film.
