Intimacy 2.0
Fashion tech project by Studio Roosegaarde which clothes, made from e-foils, change their transparency levels based on the wearer’s heartbeat:
INTIMACY is a fashion project exploring the relation between intimacy and technology. Its high-tech garments entitled ‘Intimacy White’ and ‘Intimacy Black’ are made out of opaque smart e-foils that become increasingly transparent based on close and personal encounters with people.
Social interactions determine the garmentsʼ level of transparency, creating a sensual play of disclosure.
INTIMACY 2.0 features Studio Roosegaardeʼs new, wearable dresses composed of leather and smart e-foils which are daringly perfect to wear on the red carpet. In response to the heartbeat of each person, INTIMACY 2.0 becomes more or less transparent.
Currently Studio Roosegaarde is selecting haute couture designers to develop the next INTIMACY fashion line for men and women.
Here is a video demo of the work:

Low Light Mixes - 1969

Eclectic mix with a space theme: David Bowie, Air, Brian Eno, Prog Rock, Jazz, Ambient and Trip-Hop. Featuring tracks from the same year, and mellow enough for a Sunday evening:
I’ve been on kind of a moon binge lately. It started with watching HBO’s excellent series, “From the Earth to the Moon.” Then I read “We Reach the Moon,” a book written in 1969 by John Noble Wilford, the NYT science reporter.
Next I moved on to the wonderful film, “For All Mankind.” Beautiful images and of course Eno’s remarkable soundtrack, “Apollo : Atmospheres & Soundtracks”.
So my head has been stuck on the moon in 1969. And that is the genesis of this mix, 1969. All the music used in this mix is either from 1969, related to the moon or both. 11 of the tracks are actually from the year 1969.
The tracks by Re-Drum were entirely made using sampled music from ‘69. The 2 Air tunes are from the new soundtrack, “Le Voyage Dans La Lune(a trip to the moon)”.
Tracklist:
01. “We Choose To Go To The Moon” Speech - John Kennedy
02. Landing On The Moon - Apollo 11
03. 1969 - Boards Of Canada
04. Space Oddity(Sébastien Bédé Remix) - David Bowie
05. Space Oddity Continues(Demo Version) - David Bowie
06. Moonchild - King Crimson
07. Sanctuary - Miles Davis
08. Moon Fever - Air
09. Sysyphus Part 4 - Pink Floyd
10. Poppy Nogood And The Phantom Band - Terry Riley
11. In The Beginning - Genesis
12. Spaced Seven - Soft Machine
13. Drum - Time - Re
14. Man On The Moon - Don Cherry
15. Seven Stars - Air
16. Drum - The Last Breath - Re
17. Music In Contrary Motion - Philip Glass
18. Walking In Space - Mort Garson
19. Silver Morning - Brian Eno & Daniel Lanois
20. Across The Universe(Beatles Cover) - Phosphorescent
21. Drum - Armstrong - Re
22. Always Returning - Brian Eno

Circuli
Online generative ambient sound generator:
Circuli is a generative musical instrument conceptualized and developed by Batuhan Bozkurt.
- Circles grow at a constant rate.
- No two circle can overlap.
- Bigger circle pushes and shrinks smaller circle when in contact.
- A circle “pops” and makes a sound when its boundary intersects with the center of another circle.
- The pitch of the sound is determined by the position of the circle on the background. Bigger the hole, higher the pitch.
- The envelope of the produced sound is determined by a number of parameters including final circle size and time of interaction between two involved circles.
Here is a video of it in action (which is also an iOS app):

Sunday Morning Mix by Low Light

[Yes, I know, going by the title, that this mix is a day late …]
A very mellow, chilled mix:
I’d been thinking about doing a Sunday mix for some time and then I heard Wilco’s song “One Sunday Morning” & immediately loved it & had to start a mix so I could use that tune in it.This mix is a collection of both vocal & instrumental tunes, that hopefully will work well with sitting at the kitchen table, drinking coffee & reading the paper. Sunday mornings always make me think of jazz so I included a couple of jazz tracks in the mix.
You can get the mix at Low Light’s blog here, or you can play it via Mixcloud here
Homestar Spa bath planetarium from Sega Toys

This looks like a great way to relax in a bath - a planetarium for your bath.
From Japan Trend Shop:
The Homestar Spa from Sega Toys is a planetarium for your bath that not only paints the room with stars, but includes Rose Bath and Deep Ocean graphic domes for changing to a different mood.
The waterproof planetarium floats in water and contains a bright light that projects out into the room, or even into the tub itself when flipped over. This is the latest in home lifestyle goods from Japan in Sega’s famous “toy’s for adults” series for creating relaxing atmospheres using ambient lighting.

A mix with the theme of electricity, or to put it more accurately in the words by the mixer:
“the sound of capacitors firing” was the theme for this mix, heavy electronics, evoking electricity…
It starts off-kilter, but is rewarding, ranging from electronic to hip-hop.

Dial-up sound 700% slower via rhizome.org
Sounds like space in a science-fiction horror film:
You know how when you slow a Justin Bieber song down by 800%, you get a neat ambient track? Well if you do this kind of thing with the most horrible sound in the world OH MY GOD I CAN NEVER SLEEP AGAIN
This was made with a program named PaulStretch, which can make this sort of thing from any sound files. I edited the final product a bit to remove long silences and some white noise length, and to try to even the volume out a bit.
