Colour Changing Camouflage
American outdoor wear retailer Cabela has developed a colour-changing camouflage material which changes due to temperature, thus adjusting to seasonal differences - video embedded below:
Have you ever wished your camo clothing could change along with your surroundings? Now it can. Cabela’s revolutionary ColorPhase is the world’s first camouflage clothing to be printed with rapid-change, temperature-activated dye. In mild temperatures, the Cabela’s-exclusive patterns are highlighted by vivid greens that blend perfectly with the early-season or spring foliage. But as the temperature drops, the greens morph to late-season shades of brown.
Whilst this is an appropriate idea for hunting, the possible creative uses elsewhere (make-up, fashion, hacktivism) certainly seem possible (maybe to accompany something like CV Dazzle in my previous post?).
